Unexpected Survivor

Hello everyone!

About the Project:

This game was my graded unit project for college. I created it for my assessment, and it’s a survival zombie game built using Unity 3D. I used several packages from Synty Store that I purchased to help create the world, alongside a few assets I made myself.

The music and sound effects were outsourced from various websites. The sound effects come from freesound.org, while the background theme music was sourced from XYZ Game Sounds.

I really enjoyed making this game, although it was quite challenging, especially as it was my first time creating a 3D game.

Story:

The game follows Dirk, a retired man whose peaceful life is suddenly interrupted by a zombie apocalypse. He must find the strength to become the hero the world needs.

Instructions and Controls:

Simply unzip the file into your desired folder and run the executable.

Use the mouse and keyboard to control the game. Left Mouse Button (LMB) allows you to use your weapons.

What’s happened since I made this project:

In June this year, I graduated from the University of the West of Scotland with a degree in Computer Games Development. Achieving this degree was a long-term dream of mine. Another dream I had was to become a solo game developer, and I’m proud to say that I have. In November 2023, I founded my own studio, Ludus Pax Studios.

My first commercial game is called Rise of the Village Hero! It is a small indie RPG where players take control of the reluctant hero
