Shores of the Styx

Hello everyone ! 

Welcome to my game page for my game called The Shores of the Styx.

This my first ever game! I created this game when I was 4 months in college without any previous experience in game development. I didn't know how it was going to turn up and I did as part of a game jam submission. I wanted to test myself to see if I could finish a game in under 7 days. I somehow managed it. This project is always going to be close to my heart I think which is why I have decided to continue to work on it with the hope to eventually release it.

Now with build 0.4 released gives me a strong foundation to build upon the game improve it, and hopefully finish it. 

Press release is here - for the first time my game is got its own press release this will be updated and changed as I continue to work on the game. 

It is a 2D platformer that I participated in on my other account on my first game jam GJL Parade 2020. It was never about winning  the game jam for me, it was always about the challenge of finishing a game in 7 days with minimal experience than. I did that and now I look forward to working on my little project and to make it better and bigger.

                              

Follow the story of Adrian a boy, in ancient Greece, who is adventuring into the underworld or Hades's Kingdom,  to try and rescue his mom from eternal damnation.  

My original objective was to have a journey from the top of the mountain all the way down to the deepest of Hades's world then sail down the river Styx in order to save his mom. However, having little to no experience in game dev at the time that was not possible for me to create. I am learning more every day (in my Game development higher education) so I am now back into it and will add more with each build to make the game better and to have more content added to it. 

There is a bit where the updates will stop and game will eventually release on steam but we ware not there just yet.

            

To move around the world - W,A,S,D

Jumping - SPACE bar

Interacting with objects around the world and on maps - E

To pause the game for a breather or quit - ESCAPE key.
