About the project:

Barbarian is an action-adventure platformer game where our character embarks on a quest to rescue his wife, who has been abducted by an evil force.

Players explore different levels in search of their other half.

The game comprises six levels, featuring a variety of puzzles, platforming elements, and close-range combat with enemies.

How did the project come about?

This university project, which myself and three other colleagues worked on, was submitted as part of one of our university modules.

I collaborated with a few colleagues on this project last year during my 3rd year at University. It was part of a group work module, and I thoroughly enjoyed leading it.

My contribution to the project:

I assumed the role of team leader, ensuring that the project met its deadlines, adhered to the submission time frame, and remained aligned with our original game design document (GDD). 

As a programmer, I worked on various scripts, including mini-maps and AI, expanded player controller functionality, and initially created the AI for enemies, which was later revised.

I was responsible for designing one level, overseeing its overall design, seeking feedback, and making improvements based on the input received.

Additionally, I designed and implemented the cinematic intro and final cutscenes using Unity Timeline. I also contributed to UI elements and proposed the idea for the UI menu, which my colleagues then implemented.
